Batteries
Every hearing instrument runs on a battery; be sure you use the
correct size and cell for your type of instrument. If youre
not sure, check the battery that is in it now, see the online manual
for your Starkey hearing instrument, or ask your hearing professional.
Batteries vary in size and performance. Your hearing professional
is your best source for questions about lifespan and verification
that youre using the proper size and type if problems exist.
Just as when youre cleaning your instrument, its helpful
to replace batteries while working over a towel laid on a table
or desk to reduce the risk of damage should you drop anything.
To replace the battery, open the compartment door by placing your
fingernail under the non-hinged edge; gently pull outward. Be careful
not to open the door too far. Remove the old battery by either
pushing it out the top or pulling it straight out.
Place the new battery in the compartment with the plus (+) sign
facing the same direction as the plus (+) sign on the door.
Close the battery compartment door until it snaps securely. Never
force the door shutit could damage the unit. If the door
wont close securely, check that the battery is properly seated
in the compartment.
A few cautionary notes:
- Batteries are dangerous if swallowed. Keep them well away
from children or pets.
- Dispose of spent cells immediately in the proper waste or recycling
container.
- Always check your medications before ingestingbatteries
have been mistaken for tablets.
